“I’m a senior now and was elected as president of the French Club this year. I’ve been on the board for two years now, but I’ve been in the club since my freshman year. I took French all throughout middle school, so I knew that it was something I wanted to continue through high school. My sister also] did [French Club], and she always talked about how fun it was, so that’s why I really wanted to do it. French Club is fun because we can all come together and learn about topics that we wouldn’t necessarily discuss in class, which I think is really [interesting].  French was a fun part of high school overall, because [while] a decent amount of people take [the class], as you go throughout high school, everyone is so close [because] we’ve all been taking it for so long. Everybody in the class is friends, so I’m so glad that I took it. I’ve learned so much, [so] every single day, I’m [really] glad that I took French.” -Sophie McCarthy, 12
