“[The] culinary class [at West] definitely enhanced my interests, but didn’t spark it, as I already had a background in culinary [before taking the class]. My parents both went to culinary school and are now chefs, so [cooking] has always been something I grew up doing. The culinary class feels a bit elementary for me, so I would really like to take the advanced culinary class my [senior year]. Cooking can provide many people with an outlet for [stress relief], so I love when I am ‘in the zone,’ because it feels like I know exactly what tasks need to be done to create the outcome I want,” Jackson Hampel, 10.
