Standing at the podium during the opening ceremony, junior Taylor Bass assists her buddy in giving opening remarks at Special Olympics. Bass and her buddy practiced the speech multiple times in preparation for the event organized by the Special School District. “I was directing him [on] what to say. To [help] him out, I pointed at which [words] he needed to read. [Being part of this event] means I was able to help others and do right for the community,” Bass said.
