  • Seniors celebrate as a senior Daniel Loaney scores a basket. This was the first year since 2011 that the seniors won the senior faculty game with the ending score being 27-23. “It was a great win for the seniors. Very hard fought battle, but coming out on top was a victory for the class of 2018 for sure,” Loaney said.

  • Senior Sydney Bystrom attempts to block math teacher Christy Moellering from passing the ball. This was Moellering’s third year playing in the game. “It was fun this year because I knew so many seniors including Sydney since I have her as a student,” Moellering said. “[My favorite memory was] when the seniors won because they were so excited to have finally won.”

  • Senior Daniel Loaney dresses up as transfer student “Daniella” and joins the girls’ game. “I thought I would try to take the game into my own hands, but I airballed probably four times,” Loaney said. “It was going really well until the referee took off my wig, and ejected me from the game. I felt defeated, but it was my favorite memory of the game. Also, it was fun to make a steal and finally score a point.”

  • Senior Sophie Vietor attempts to block Senior Principal Kate Piffel from passing to her teammate. “I wanted to play since I have always watched the game since I was an underclassmen. Also, all my friends played, so I joined even though I suck at basketball,” Vietor said. “I missed shooting a basket, so when I had the ball again, I made sure to pass it to someone and they were able to score.”

  • Principal Jeremy Mitchell guards senior Jack Swiney from getting the ball. Over one thousand dollars in proceeds from the game was raised for Friends of Kids with Cancer. “This year, I made one basket which was more than last year,” Mitchell said. “I enjoy playing basketball and helping to raise money for a good cause. It was nice to look up [to the crowd] and seeing all the students in attendance.”
