Testing a new method to take overhead photos at football games, sophomore Charlie Walsh and junior Joseph Cheng prepare their drone for flight in the gym hallway. The drone was the most high-tech piece of equipment the third hour Robotics class had worked with, among complex cameras and lighting. “There was a lot of crashing,” Cheng said. “The controls weren’t really that easy. You had to, like, sync up the drone with the controller, and maybe it would lean to one side. You had to kind of fix all that stuff before flying it.”
