An essay-writing pencil taps on a table, a textbook page is flipped and a student high-fives a friend after finishing an assignment as a mere 45 percent of students work on classwork and homework during their optional study hall period.
As a part of the band family, juniors Allison Wills, Matt Soehngen and sophomore Jacob Mueller practice their instruments. Most of my closest friends I met through band, Wills said. Without it, I probably wouldnt even know some of them.

During Common Ground on Wed., Jan. 14, the AP Fair will be hosted in the cafeteria for students interested in taking AP courses.
Students aid Mrs. Annie Wayland as they put boxes of donations from the canned food drive in the back of a truck to be taken to Circle of Concern. We’re being thankful and then we’re going into winter break where we’re reflecting as a community about how much we have. It’s just a perfect correlation for us to give back to the community and give back to those that are in need, Wayland said.

Students walked out of classes at 10:45 a.m. in hopes of starting a conversation leading to social equality.
During Lauren Bernsteins Spanish III class, sophomores Grant Cline,  Alyssa Jackson and Victoria Marston participate in a silent written debate about the Michael Brown case. Its ironic this is falling on the same day as the scheduled walk-out; that was not intentional, Bernstein said.
