Varsity football players reflect on their season performance
As the season ends and the post-season begins, the Longhorn varsity football team stands at a score of 5-4 in class five district two. Take a look at season photos and player reflections in our season wrap-up gallery:
Sprinting to guard a player, sophomore Jaron Boyd (6) plays as a free safety in a home game against Hazelwood Central. Boyd played his first game as a varsity player this season. “My goal this year was to start on varsity. I enjoyed being on film and part of the team for the first time. This season taught me that I’m a quick learner on the field,” Boyd said.

![Anti-Black bigotry is prevalent on the internet, and online platforms are some of the most significant factors in perpetuating this anti-Black discrimination. For example, anonymity on the internet emboldens people to say racist things online that they would not typically say in person. “[People] can have fake names and say what they want because you don’t know them, and they know you don’t know them. They’ll say pretty hurtful things about African-Americans, and they’ll use a lot of vulgar language about [us].
