Trump disavows Klu Klux Klan

Last week, presidential candidate Donald Trump made a point to disavow the Klu Klux Klan and its leader, Grand Wizard David Duke.

“I totally disavow the Ku Klux Klan, I totally disavow David Duke, I’ve been doing it now for two weeks,” Trump said as a response to a question asked by Fox News.

David Duke, the grand wizard of the KKK gave Trump his full support in the elections.

“Trump’s supporters are dominantly white and feel strongly that whites are better than anyone,” National Guard member Patrick Berry said in an interview over Skype. “They think that America is being overrun by immigrants. White-supremacists support Trump to the teeth, and they are all for him because Trump said he wants to build a wall which will stop immigrants from getting into the U.S. without proper permission. White-supremacist don’t think immigrants or anyone who isn’t white should be in the U.S.”

Trump’s idea of building a wall on the border of Mexico and the U.S. created tensions between Trump and Immigrants, causing him to lose their support.

When Trump was asked to comment he blamed a bad earpiece.

“I could hardly hear what he’s saying. I hear various groups. I don’t mind disavowing anyone. I disavowed Duke the day before at a major conference,” Trump said in an interview with CNN.

Trump has not officially explained why the KKK’s white nationalism was wrong, and his disclaims are becoming an answer for over everything related to the KKK or racism.

“He can’t possibly just refuse to talk about racism when that’s the main fundamentals he revolves around,” sophomore Hussain Yasin said.

Trumps disavows on Facebook are becoming a repetition instead of a statement. The press still does not believe him even though he has directly said that he disavowed the KKK and David Duke.

“He’s not exactly refusing. He’s avoiding and blatantly lying when he’s asked what his personal opinion about the leader of the KKK supporting him is. He lied saying he had no idea what the KKK is and who the leader was when he had previously discussed both in an interview years ago,” sophomore Logan Marx said.

In a survey taken by voters created by the American National Election Studies, fifty-two percent of Trump’s supporters think that it is extremely important that whites need to work together to change laws unfair to whites. Thirty-two percent think that there is discrimination against whites, and forty-seven percent believe that minorities are the reason why unemployment is low.

“My parents and I are not Trump supporters because we are very tolerant and if we build a wall to keep out people from other countries, than we can lose help from them if we ever needed it,” freshman Natalie Littich said.
