Debate team reflects on season

The debate team has competed in four competitions to date, the Greater St. Louis League pre-season/limited prep festival, the Parkway West Invitational, Oakville Congress, and the Liberty High School Invitational.

Senior Kathryn Bonzon was not old enough to remember 9/11, but still believes it was a huge tragedy for Americans. Its definitely one of the things you dont understand until you see it happen, so I can imagine it and feel for people, but I will never truly relate to the people who saw it, Bonzon said.

Cleaning out their watermelon helmets,  freshman Claire Smout, sophomore Betsy Wait, juniors Maggie Hulen and Maggie Morse, seniors Rachel Osborne, and Abby Allgeyer, and Coach Kevin John, prepare to put the melon shells on their heads. “I was one of the first people to transform their watermelon into a watermelon hat,” Osborne said. Osborne drove home wearing the watermelon hat that evening.
