Throughout the past week, students have been asked about their thoughts on who will make the Super Bowl.
“I was very surprised of the results of last week’s games, especially the Broncos vs. Patriots game,” senior Scott McKnight said. “I felt that the Patriots had a stronger team but the Broncos defense was way too solid for quarterback Tom Brady to handle.”
As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, students have been discussing how the game will go.
“I think the Panthers will win the Super Bowl,” senior Rami Ringling said. “Broncos don’t have a strong offense to match Carolina’s defense.”
Student rumors are circulating the halls that Cam Newton is going to be the Panthers go-to guy and that Peyton Manning, as good as he has been throughout his career, he is too old to pull off another Super Bowl championship.
“Cam Newton is a beast and will kill the Broncos defense,” junior Scott Meier said. “Peyton Manning is only good for Papa Johns commercials.”
Twenty percent of the students interviewed believe that the Broncos will pull off the Super Bowl victory.
“I think the Broncos will pull off the upset against the Panthers,” senior Jack Russell said. “The Broncos defense is really good and I think Peyton Manning will have a strong game like he did in the AFC Championship game against the Patriots.”
Eighty percent of the students interviewed believed that the Carolina Panthers will defeat the Denver Broncos to win the Super Bowl. However, 100 percent believe that the score will be very close.
“I think the final score will be 28-21 in favor of Carolina,” Ringling said.
Super Bowl 50 will be played on Feb. 7 at Levi’s Stadium, home field of the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, CA.
“I predict the Carolina Panthers to win the Super Bowl by 20 points against the Denver Broncos,” senior Alex Karrenbrock said. “The Panthers offense is unstoppable when they have quarterback Cam Newton.”
