Triya Gudipati
Name: Triya Gudipati
Grade:10
Role: Sophomore Class President
Why did you join the Longhorn Council?
Last year I was freshman class president, so obviously, I wanted to represent my class, and I still wanted to provide good communication or at least the best I could so that my grade would know what was going on. So I kept everyone updated and just tried to gain momentum from last year to keep it going for this year. I’ve always been interested in leadership positions, especially at school. I was on the Student Council and the Lighthouse team throughout elementary and middle school, and it seemed like the next logical step so I could continue to do that in high school.
What event are you most looking forward to planning?
I’m looking forward to Homecoming. We’ve been working hard. I helped organize the pep assembly, which means I contacted and set-up the performers, updated walk-in music and helped schedule the timings of the different parts of the assembly. I’ve also made some of the posts sent out by Longhorn Loco on social media, helped with floor decoration, and I am currently [helping] build the sophomore class float. We’ve been working since summer started to get everything prepared and planned out for everyone. It’s been a little busy, but it’s been so much fun. I can’t wait to see what everyone else thinks.
What extracurriculars are you involved in?
I’m involved in Spanish Club, German Club, The Speech & Debate Team, FBLA, Scholar Bowl and I’m a staff writer for the Pathfinder.
What is your favorite TV Show?
I love “Gilmore Girls.” I’ve watched it countless times and I can recite almost all the scenes from memory. I started watching it with my mom, and then I got [all my friends] into it.
Who is your favorite musician?
I love Taylor Swift. I’m such a big Taylor Swift Fan. I listen to all of her songs. If you know me, like that’s all I talk about.
What is something you are passionate about?
I love dancing. Dance is something I’ve been doing since I was little and whether it’s just ballet or like choreographing in my room, it’s always something I’ve loved.
What is something the Student Body should know about you?
I’m open to ideas. So, if anyone has any feedback, criticism, or anything, they should always feel free to talk to me, and I’ll try my hardest to make sure they’re heard.
