Tiffany Ung
Simple classroom interactions were valuable moments to senior Tiffany Ung as she navigated the high school. Ung enjoyed casual teaching styles where students and teachers could joke with each other and talk about life.
As a senior, Ung has figured out how to surround herself with people and activities that are best for her. Ung learned to focus on her interests rather than cramming in extracurriculars for college.
“I’m genuinely interested and invested in what I’m doing,” Ung said. “I’ve come to realize that a letter or number grade doesn’t define you. Sure, everyone says this nowadays. But really, academics are just one part of our lives. If it won’t matter 10 years down the line, it’s not worth worrying too much about.”
Looking up to her dad, Ung aims to work hard and be sincere with others. Ung drives herself to adapt to change and overcome challenges.
“[My dad] grew up not having much and built a life where we live comfortably now. He has a work ethic I strive to have, wisdom most can’t even imagine and the biggest heart out of all the people I know,” Ung said. “To my freshman self, surround yourself with good people, work hard and the rest will follow. Don’t be afraid to take breaks now and then and please, please do not pull all-nighters.”
