Valentine’s Day is all about treating yourself… orrrrr someone else treating you. And with that, comes one daunting task: the bright, pink and red candy aisle. Chock full of what seems to be every chocolate known to man, it isn’t easy to choose which is best for you. So, we made that decision a little bit easier by reviewing a seasonal Hershey Kiss flavor: Milk Chocolate Meltaway. 

These finely wrapped chocolates reminded us of a fresh bouquet of roses – a bouquet that we will not be receiving this Valentine’s Day. The packaging wrapped in red foil with red roses also includes a green paper stem, which mimics a real rose. This simple design will surely capture your eye and put you in a Valentine’s Day mood. 

These little drops of sweetness are filled with brownie-like chocolate cream and have a good texture that melts in your mouth. This cream has a rich, dark chocolate flavor that contrasts the milk chocolate shell on the outside. Although these candies may be appealing on the outside, they taste like any typical Hershys that is sold on the market, but for the price of $3.99, they were great-tasting chocolate for a cheap alternative. They were definitely better options out there, but buying this candy is not a bad idea. 

Overall, we would rate this Valentine’s Day chocolate a 6/10. It balanced between dark and milk chocolate, but the only special thing about it was the creamy filling. If that is something that you like in your chocolate, then this is the candy for you, but if you’re looking for a new, interesting chocolate to try, we would not recommend it. Although it didn’t stand out to us, it’s still a good-tasting candy for its price. And with that, whether you’re spending Valentine’s Day alone or with a special someone, just remember: “Chocolate doesn’t ask silly questions; chocolate understands.”
