Senior Esha Franics

Esha Francis

Name: Esha Francis

Grade: 12

Role: Student Body President

Why did you join the Longhorn Council?

I originally joined because I wanted to try something new. I never [considered myself] a leader. I was kind of shy, [so] I applied at the end of [my] sophomore year. I got [involved] junior year, and I became more confident in my leadership skills.

What event are you most looking forward to planning?

I’m in charge of the Powder Puff game and pep assembly, and I’m so excited for both of them. Powder Puff is gonna be so fun. It’s just going to be as great as last year, [there’s going to be] a bunch of friendly competition and whatnot. The juniors will have a great time playing against the seniors, and the seniors will win. We’re doing it outside again, and we’re excited because the varsity dance team and the varsity cheerleaders are trying to come together and do something together, which is different from the previous years. We’re trying to find time to fit more things in. I can’t wait to see it all come together.

What extracurricular activities are you involved in?

I am the Student Body President [in Longhorn Council], President of Medical Club, Vice-President of NHS, Vice-President of NEHS, Vice-President of HOSA, Beta Chi Pi, Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish Club and Key Club.

What is your favorite TV Show?

Definitely “Wizards of Waverly Place” because I’m rewatching that as we speak, [in my] senior year.

Who is your favorite musician?

My favorite pop artist is the Weeknd because I saw him in concert in Chicago. It was so good. I can’t even get over it, it was amazing. I love Doja Cat too.

What are you the most passionate about?

Planning and organizing events and leading people is one of my new passions.

What is something the Student Body should know about you?

I’m here to take in any opinions. We love new ideas. At LoCo, we’re changing things up a little bit this year with Homecoming. So if there’s anyone concerned about any ideas, we want [to hear them]. We’ve already implemented some student body ideas into our Homecoming traditions. We want to show that we care and implement [things] because it’s always fun to try new things.
