Sadie Burgess

Vinyl collector, freshman Sadie Burgess plays “Lover” by Taylor Swift on her record player.

Record Players

Most people listen to music through streaming apps such as Apple Music and Spotify, so placing the needle down on your favorite record is a refreshing change. Although they aren’t mobile, record players are still a great way to listen to music. Not only does vinyl provide practical, musical use, but they have also recently been displayed as room decor for teenagers who enjoy a more vintage aesthetic.

Record players tend to have a pure, crisp sound that makes people feel at home and creates a pleasant, old-fashioned atmosphere. Owning records provides physical copies of the music you enjoy, as well as the pictures and lyrics that are often included only through physical records.

“I really enjoy getting records because it exposes me to older and new music that I wouldn’t have listened to if I had just been listening to music on Spotify,” freshman Sadie Burgess said.
