Throwing her horns up, senior Maddie Hoffman has a “Zoom prom” with her friends. Hoffman and her friends dressed up to video chat on Zoom and celebrated prom together by coming up with funny senior superlatives. “My favorite part was getting to spend that time with my sister. It’s the sort of thing we normally would’ve been doing with friends, and we got to do it together. I think celebrating prom in a different way was just what everyone needed at a time like this,” Hoffman said.

With an effort to finish, senior Lydia Roseman swims 100 yard backstroke at the end of the Yellow Pool Conference Finals. Between the preliminary swim Tuesday, Feb. 4 and finals Thursday, Feb. 6, Roseman dropped a combined 3.44 seconds in this event. “It was just a really great way for me to finish off my season because I accomplished way more than I thought I would. I was hoping for just a small time drop, but then I ended up dropping a significant amount,” Roseman said.

Feeding a live mouse to snake Tupac Tuba Gilbert Scott the Seventh, junior Nev Hill snatches a front-row view as classmates crowd around to watch the spectacle unfold. It is strongly suggested for students in Zoology, a course taught by science teacher Amy Cohen (not pictured), to own or co-own a pet. “[People who are scared] should just meet my snake because she’s really sweet. I think they just need to get over the initial fear factor and just realize that they’re really sweet animals [that] aren’t going to hurt anybody,” Hill said. “[My snake] is cute, and she is just there. She has never bitten anyone [and] never would bite anybody. She just sits there and wants to cuddle and be warm around your neck or your hand.”
