Parkway Responds to Clown Threats
On Sunday Oct. 2, Superintendent Keith Marty sent out an email blast informing parents of a potential security threat related to the national “creepy clown” scares.
Throughout the United States, there have been sightings of creepy clowns trying to lure children into dangerous situations. Local sightings include Jefferson County and Granite City according to KMOX.
Multiple schools in St. Louis County received an online threat, but there is no confirmation Parkway schools are specifically targeted.
As a safety precaution, increased security will be present on all school campuses on Monday, Oct. 3. Parkway is currently working with the police in their investigation of the online threats.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and take whatever steps are necessary to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff,” Marty said in the email.
