Swimming to reach her opponent, sophomore Emily Bauer press block defends him and stops him from passing the ball. Bauer was one of three girls on the water polo team. “I played games with JV, but I primarily practiced with Varsity. Practice with the big guys, where I was the only girl, was super fun! I was glad that I was so greatly accepted and never treated differently because I’m a girl,” Bauer said. “When West Polo worked together and learned from one another, we really made a difference and built a team bond that showed through in practice and as well as in games.”
