When most people hear ‘western’ they think Wild West, cowboy boots and chaps, but believe it or not, all the elements of your all-American cowboy are being reincarnated with a fashionable twist. Now, I don’t recommend wearing multiple western inspired items together, but they can be worn in day-to-day life as opposed to on Halloween dressed as a cowboy.
Probably the most iconic item that can be added to your wardrobe are cowboy boots. These are easy to pair with skinny jeans during any season. However, if cowboy boots are too obvious, riding boots also add a less obvious western flair and can be worn the same way.
One of the easiest and versatile ways to incorporate these trends into your closet is with shirts. Plaid and denim button downs along with worn in fitted tees can not only be totally trendy but also super comfy. Pair a vintage baseball tee with denim high waisted shorts and a plaid tied around your waist for an off the runway western look. Or wear a light denim button down with rolled sleeves over a vintage tee with leggings. Add a fringe leather jacket or purse and a bandana headband to any outfit as well.
So the next time that warm weather rolls in for a few days, break out the plaid with jean shorts for a western and classy look.
