For most fashionistas, award season is less about TV shows and movies and more about seeing the designer looks walking down the red carpet. And whether they’re voted best or worst on the style blogs, these designs set a precedent for what’s to come in fashion. And believe it or not, these trends trickle down into our everyday fashion.
A head turning trend so far has been bright colors! Whether it’s Julianna Margulies’ cobalt blue frock or Kaley Cuoco’s candy-apple red dress, eye-popping shades are here and ready to be noticed. Even though most of us won’t be wearing these ball gowns to school or parties, it is plausible that these bright colors will be seen in stores like Nordstrom just in time for summer.
Another red carpet trend is feminine suits. Actresses like Emma Stone and Julia Roberts have donned tuxedo style jumpsuits and two piece sets. Unless you’re a savvy business women, tuxedo two pieces probably won’t be a necessity in your wardrobe. However, stores like Forever21 have adorable tuxedo inspired rompers and jumpsuits that are more casual.
The final trend that the stars have been sporting are hues of white and ivory. Reese Witherspoon rocked a simple one shoulder, eggshell colored dress at the SAG awards alongside Viola Davis and her cream dress with a halter neckline. Paula Patton took it up a notch in her fully white-beaded gown with gold accents. In my opinion, this trend is the easiest and most fun to incorporated into your wardrobe. Pair a chiffon tank with white jeans and sandals this summer for an off the carpet trend.
Don’t forget the biggest red carpet trend, staying classy!
