No matter how small or dainty, accessories definitely make or break an outfit, but even I find myself questioning how many accessories look good. But if you can find that line and balance it, your outfit will go from ‘ok’ to ‘fashion blogger worthy.’
For starters, if your outfit seems kind of drab, a statement necklace is definitely the way to go. If you are wearing a top with a higher neckline, find a short length crystal or beaded necklace. When you are wearing a low neck top, opt for the longer tassel or multi-strand necklace. If your shirt is the statement piece, go for a simple monogram or single chain necklace. After you find the perfect necklace, the next step is bracelets. My favorite look for bracelets is a boyfriend style watch with two or three daintier bangles. If you mix bracelets and a necklace make you sure you pair them with a pair of simple stud earrings. If you go for flashy earrings with the statement necklace and bracelets, it will most likely look too over the top. This goes for any outfit combo, stick with two bulky statement pieces at the most and a basic third piece to finish off the look. And the most important thing to remember is never pair a statement necklace and statement earrings! However, if your heart is set on unique earrings, try an ear cuff. It’s subtle but adds a touch of runway fashion to and outfit.
After jewelry comes the less essential pieces, like sunglasses and even lipstick. Yes, lipstick is considered an accessory. I like to find a good pair of aviators or tortoise shell sunglasses that can go with almost everything. But if you really want to stand out, flash lens sunglasses add a great pop. And finally lipstick. The bright red and pink colors are definitely making a comeback, and if you’ve got the lips and personality to pull it off, I say go for it. But if you want a more subtle pop of color, light pinks and corals look great on everyone.
But no matter how you accessorize always remember to stay classy!
