Now that Homecoming Week has passed, there’s only one last chance to dress up in your favorite costume. Halloween is quickly approaching, and even though most of us won’t be Trick or Treating, you will probably be going to some sort of party that involves dressing up. But how can you find a balance between creative and easy to throw together?
For starters, decide if you want a solo costume or if you want to dress up in a specific theme with your friends. If you are going costume party stag, then you have an endless amount of options! You can do whatever your heart desires; whether that be an original store-bought costume or a makeshift costume, you’re bound for success. You could find or borrow a black suit and fedora and go as a mobster, or if you want to dress the bare minimum, you could just throw on your football jersey and draw on some eye-black for a football player look.
If you do decide to dress up as a group, you can get über creative! If it’s a big group, everyone could dress up as a different Avenger or different characters from the Mario video games. You could also disguise yourself as the different Ninja Turtles or, my personal favorite for DIY, the minions from Despicable Me! Just find a few yellow t-shirts and some suspenders and glasses. Pair them with jeans and you’re good to go. If you want to find a cute couple costume you could go as Mario and Princess Peach or Batman and Catwoman (although no one will look as good as Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway).
No matter how you dress up, make sure to have fun and mooch as much free candy as you can! And, as always, make sure to stay classy!
