Striking a move, senior Trenton Livingston energizes the crowd at the Homecoming Pep Assembly as he sings along to the Barbie and Ken song. He followed the dance routine taught by the Varsity Girl Cheerleading Team. “The process of the dance was a little stressful. The girls were very patient with us even though we struggled a bit, but we learned pretty fast. I am happy that I got to be a part of the routine,” Livingston said. “I liked the pep assembly this year because we are the seniors and we get the spotlight,” Livingston said.

“My fifth-grade teacher Mrs. Hartman impacted me growing up. She was the only person that actually believed in me, and she gave me the courage to do what I do now. I believed in myself [because of her], I felt like I never believed in myself or I wasn't capable of doing anything, but she made me feel like I could do anything in the world. With what I've been through and how I think about things, a lot of people didn’t understand me as a person. But I feel like she understood where I was coming from and the things that I was going through. My mom has gone through the struggle, and I look up to all the things that she went through growing up. People always ask me what my goals are, but I don’t believe in goals, because that's one way of failing. What if I could do more than just achieve that one goal that I set out to do? I’m gonna set objectives. What I say is what I'm gonna do, and I'm not going halfway in life,” - Trenton Livingston, 11

Supporting his team, senior and cornerback Cameron Jehling (40, second from the left) keeps his eye on a kickoff play. Jehling felt more confident about his plays compared to his performance the previous year. “Most people think that to be a good football player, you have to go to the gym, but there’s a famous quote I use for both football and baseball that shows [otherwise]. My coach first told me, ‘a sport is 90% mental, 10% physical.’ I tried this year to be better about the mental aspect of the game instead of the physical,” Jehling said.
