Holding his hand up while harmonizing, junior Andrew Gwin stands back to back with senior Connor Dolan as they perform at the December Jazz Choir concert. Gwin feels lucky to be performing on stage for an audience again. “Everyone was having a great time working and performing off of each other,” Gwin said. “It was refreshing to be able to perform again after a year of not being on stage. It’s a great feeling having the audience watch you do your thing.”

![Senior Luke Mathiesen portrays Benvolio for the first act of Romeo and Juliet in the The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged. The food truck made its debut at Fern Ridge High School. “My biggest hope for the truck is that it serves as not [only] an inspirational tool for the district but also an educational one. ![Spending their seventh hour in the cafeteria Jan. 6, juniors Matthew Feng, Sangarshan Kumar, Michael Feng, Govind Menon, Om Shinde, Samarth Samal and Bennett Christofferson join a Zoom with their teacher to get help with their assigned work. Their teacher assigned a packet with lecture notes, guided problems and self-check problems and opened a Zoom room during class hours to ensure students were supported. “For some people, school is the only place they feel safe. On the other hand, we’re also in the biggest COVID-19 spike [of cases] right now. Both sides have ups and downs,” Samal said. “I personally am fine with staying in school as long as it doesnt interfere with my learning too much because Im vaccinated and I wear my mask properly. ![Unwrapping the finished product, senior Triniti Cook admires the pumpkin pie she baked for Thanksgiving dinner. Cook went to her aunts house for Thanksgiving dinner. “My favorite part about making [the pie] was listening to Christmas music and singing as I made it. Senior boys competed for the title of Mr. Longhorn in a beauty-pageant style competition which included learning choreography for dance numbers. “Being a part of Mr. Longhorn was a fun experience.
