With the golden crown signifying his victory, senior Lance Griffith smiles to the crowd. Griffith was announced Mr. Longhorn 2018 after winning over a panel of teacher judges and the audience’s votes. “It felt unreal [to win]; it was almost fairytale-ish. I’ve never heard such a small space create such a loud noise,” Griffith said. “I got a standing ovation which apparently has never happened before. I put a lot of time and effort into this, and it was very rewarding to see it pay off.”
