With music in his genes, junior Tavion Hamilton is currently working on his first official mixtape and extended play.
As a growing musical artist, Hamilton looked up to a lot of legends such as Prince, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Elvis, and Bob Marley because he hopes to someday be in the same place as them.
“My grandmother was a gospel singer, my father does music, my uncle produces music, so a lot of them produce music and stuff like that. Now it’s just me, I’m just trying to carry on the legacy,” junior Tavion Hamilton said.
Hamilton hopes his music communicates to his fans how they can make the world a better place.
“Music makes me feel dedicated, it makes me have an ambition to strive and do what I love. I know I’m not doing it for the money,” he said.
While Hamilton enjoys all different types of music, his two favorite are rapping and singing.
“It’s definitely a mixture of both, it all depends on my mood really. I like to talk about the community, what’s all around me and my views on the world and stuff like that,” Hamilton said.
Hamilton recently made a YouTube channel, SoundCloud and Spotify to get his music out for the public to listen to.
“I’m also currently in the studio working on my first official mixtape and extended play, so my music will be up soon in all of those places,” he said.
With plans to continue pursuing his music, Hamilton hopes to create a career, where he can thrive in what he loves doing.
“I hope to take my music as far as I want to take it and as far as it lets me take it. I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing and keep striving until I can get to a certain point in my life where I’m successful,” Hamilton said.
