Junior Nidhi Pejathaya helped found West’s Sustainability Council to create a space where students can educate themselves about climate change and do their part to preserve the environment. “When you're going out of your way to recycle [or] reuse your clothes to save water, you're saving people. [Through these opportunities,] I’ve learned to be a better organizer and planner, especially with my roles in MSA and Women in Healthcare. “Last year a student, Mayer Mitchell, came to me – I guess he saw me as the nerdy type for this club – wanted to start this club. We worked together to write the stories and set up everything we need for the upcoming club.”
“How many members do you have?”
“Last year we had seven members and five other members wanting to join but sadly we didn’t have enough room.”
