Celebrating after receiving word that the varsity water polo team won state, senior JV water polo player Lauren Gieseking raises her fist at the graduation to notify her Mom of the team’s victory. “I was freaking out as I was waiting to hear what happened at the game. My heart rate was through the roof, I don’t know if I was more nervous to graduate or to find out the results,” Gieseking said. “I had Twitter and had the Livestream open on my phone. My teammate Brenda Whitten missed graduation to go to the game, and was sending me text updates. I found out we won state, then not even two minutes later, went up on stage to receive my diploma and told Dr. Mitchell the good news!”
