The Soccer Summer Showcase was held from July 11-13. Thirty-five teams from around Missouri participated.
“The weather was very hot, so the managers and coaches made sure the players were well hydrated during the tournament,” Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach Michael Skordos said.
Aside from the Summer Showcase, the team practiced an additional 25 days during the summer. The varsity team had scrimmages against other schools.
The Longhorns went 3-0 in pool play. They advanced to the finals against Rockhurst, a team from Kansas City, where they tied that game 0-0.
“The Showcase gave coaches around the area a chance to see the competition they would play during the regular season,” Skordos said.
