At districts on May 11, sophomore Maddie Brown wins third place in the 1600 with a time of 5:05. “During the race I felt really tired but I knew I wanted to move on so I stayed focused on my goal. Afterwards my legs felt like jelly but I was really excited because I beat my record by seven seconds. I was really greatful I could race against good and competitive people, like Angie Sumner and Hannah Long,” Brown said.
