Running down a path surrounding Creve Coeur Lake, junior Emily Sipp completes the third race of the Fleet Feet Snowball series. Sipp had to run through a variety of weather conditions, but still got first female in the race. “My feet were freezing, as I had just run through 6 inches of standing lake water,” Sipp said. “These race conditions were 45 degrees and 17 mph winds in my face, although I didn’t mind the freezing water too much–it made for a good story later.”

Running past spectators, junior Emily Sipp conquers hills at Parkway Central on Nov. 2. The team placed fifth out of eight teams competing at the meet. “I think there were some rough moments during the race,” Sipp said. “A rough moment for me means to get nervous. I start to panic and I breathe really hard. When it has passed, something clicks in my head, and I have this sense of relief. Overall, it was a good race. I had a good finish [and] placed top 30.”
