With more than 100,000 four-star reviews, the simplistic Flappy Birds is currently the most purchased app in the iTunes store. This highly addicting game has infuriated most of its players, causing it to take social media by storm.
The rules of the game are surprisingly simple: “Tap to flap your wings to
fly” and “Avoid pipes,” the apps description in iTunes says. Users must constantly tap the screen to navigate a little bird that dies whenever it touches a pipe.
“This game is difficult on purpose, it’s almost like it’s so easy that it’s hard,” senior player Gavyn Prsha said.
Gamers have gotten so obsessed and annoyed with losing that some have even looked up tricks to hack Flappy Bird.
According to Evan Heisenberg of Writer Party, “One of the key things to remember is to stay relaxed while you are playing this game. It’s extremely easy to get frustrated, and the more frustrated that you get, the easier it will be to make stupid mistakes. Take a 15 to 30 minute break from the game if you need to in order to get your concentration back.”
Because the game is extremely addicting, there have been endless tweets of players describing their anger.
“I might lose friends over Flappy Birds. It has been one hour and I haven’t made past level three,” senior Jennifer Welby tweeted.
