A typical day in class with a substitute teacher: not listening, taking advantage and doing whatever you want. However, in the case of Junior Jeremy Williams, having a sub meant the perfect chance to try out a new prank.
Control It All-Remote is an application that allows your iPhone to act like a universal remote. By downloading this app, iPhones have the power to sync to any television, cable and satellite receivers, DVD players and more.
“I heard of the app and I thought it would be funny to try it out at school,” Williams said.
During Williams’ Crime and Law class, teacher Nancy Sachtleben had a substitute teacher for the day. Williams believed this was the perfect opportunity to pull a prank and try out his new app.
“The sub would never know it was me, so it was perfect,” Williams said.
As Williams synced his iPhone to the Smart Board, he was now in control of some of the functions, like turning up and down the volume and freezing the screen.
“It was really funny because the sub thought she was doing something wrong to the board, when it was really me the whole time” Williams said.
When Sachtleben returned to class the next day, she got word of the prank pulled on her sub.
“Mrs. Sachtleben still doesn’t know I was the one who did it, so I want it to remain a mystery,” Williams said.
