With over 25 different dinner options, students have been purchasing tickets for the annual Taste of West for over two weeks.
“Taste of West is a great opportunity to try new restaurants in the areas and it supports senior and junior’s graduation funds,” senior Lauren Gieseking said.
On Thursday, Sept. 26, at 5:30p.m. the community is invited to sample Italian, deli, Mongolian, American, barbeque and dessert for a $12.
Students can sign up to volunteer at Taste of West in the main office and will receive an email from the committee with details about the night.
“It is a great way to support the upperclassmen and it is a lot of fun,” sophomore Hope Emerson said.
The money that is raised will go to the senior graduation funds and the lock in. The money gained from the raffle and prizes will go to the junior class’s graduation fund for their senior year.
“Who does not love to see their friends, get service hours and eat great food? Students can be part of the Taste of West by bringing friends and family to support the event, volunteering to set up, work a dining shift or help with clean up,” Linda Gieseking said.
Guests can purchase tickets for the Parade of Prizes drawing during during Taste of West. Tickets are sold $1 for one, $5 for six, or $20 for a wingspan. The Parade of Prizes table will be set up inside the doors of the main gym. The goal is to raise $1000 for the Class of 2015 from prizes. There will be approximately 30 raffle items. Prizes include: Reserved Senior parking spot #1 for the remainder of the year, reserved junior parking spot #59 for the remainder of the year, VIP packages to graduation and baccalaureate with reserved parking and front row seats, restaurant and grocery gift cards, spirit-wear and original art.
“This year we invited some different, non-restaurant food companies. We are proud to have L’Ecole Culinaire and their chef instructors joining us for the first time as well as two custom cake companies and a popcorn company,” Linda Gieseking said.
Set up for the event will be in the gym starts right after lunch. Restaurants will start arriving with their food at 4:30pm. Restaurants are set up around the perimeter of the gym. Dining tables are set up in the center of the gym
