On Monday May 6, the Concert Choir held their Singer’s Choice concert in the theatre at 7:30 p.m. The concert allowed members of the Concert Choir to preform a song of their choice to celebrate the ending of the school year.
“I love Singer’s Choice because it is a relaxed evening of people sharing their favorite music with each other and their families,” senior Catharine Conway said.
The amount of preparation that went into singers choice varied between each student or group.
“I didn’t have much time to prepare, so I had to choose a song that I was more familiar with. “Let It Be” by The Beatles is one of my favorite tunes. I have known it for years, so it wasn’t a hard decision,” Conway said.
During senior Zoe Gnaedinger’s performance, the audience sang along.
“That was a really fun part because I got to sing along and got to do the “WUUBBBB WUBBBBB WUUBBB’ part,” senior Austin Moran said.
Seniors Curtis Smith, Grant Post, Nick Pinilla, John Pappas, Sam Stroncek and Daniel Kim started off the night with “Afternoon Delight” from the movie Anchorman.
“This was by far my favorite performance of the night. Hearing my friends sing the song from Anchorman was just too funny,” Moran said.
The Concert Choir Singers Choice is not the only Singers Choice that takes place. The Chamber Choir Singers Choice is Monday May 13 at 7:30 p.m.
