Senior Audrey Crippin has entered the Seventh Annual Create-A-Greeting-Card $10,000 Scholarship Contest. If Crippin’s greeting card is chosen as the winner, Crippin will receive a $10,000 scholarship and West High School will also receive an additional $1,000.
“I was searching for scholarship opportunities online and saw there was an opportunity to enter a photo contest for a cover of the greeting card,” Crippin said. “I found the Create-A-Greeting-Card contest and decided to enter.”
Upon looking upon previous winners, Crippin noticed that winning pieces of artwork were almost all hand drawings and not photographs.
“I entered the contest thinking it was a photo contest,” Crippin said, “So I was surprised when the majority of them were hand drawings. I still decided to enter a photograph because I felt it was my best chance to win the contest.”
If selected as the winner, Crippin plans to put the money towards helping pay for college. Crippin will attend Butler University this fall.
“A pharmaceutical major is really expensive and is six years long, so I want to have all the help I need to pay for it,” said Crippin.
If any other individuals are interested in entering the contest, it is not too late to submit your personal artwork. Just create your very own, original design and submit your artwork to http://www.gallerycollection.com/greeting-cards-scholarship.htm
