For the second year in a row, an academic team from West High has taken top honors at the regional Test of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science (TEAMS) Competition held at St. Louis Community College in Florissant Valley on Feb. 15.
TEAMS is an annual competition for middle and high school students designed to help them discover their potential for engineering. Using science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and 21st century learning skills, students work collaboratively to problem solve real-world engineering challenges.
Along with the first place Grand Champions, West High took second and third place at the junior/senior grade division level, and first place in the freshmen/sophomore division level. These students are:
Second place (junior/senior-Division 7) – Cameron Bredow, Tommy Christensen, Ben Ratliff, JD Lister, Imad Khan, Brenna Ryan, Sarah Breland, Jeremy Wojtak
Third place (junior/senior-Division 7) – Jaclyn Perry, Joanna Lin, Ann Ni, Rucha Vyas, Humza Mian, Kerry Xiao, Saifullah Shoaib
First place (freshman/sophomore- Division 7) – William Tong, Cheng-Hau Kee, Henry Zou, Jan Gagstetter, Rachel Yang, Jon Garbero, Amos Chen, Aron Tesfai
