In January, Parkway West will instate automated attendance. It is a system where parents will receive a phone call at the end of the school day notifying what periods their student missed. The parents will only be notified of unexcused absences, like skipping classes.
“Research shows that more attendance results in good grades. Students’ parents should also know if their student is not in class unexcused. The program will also insure that our attendance is accurate,” Senior Principal Beth Middendorf said.
All Parkway schools have the option of automated attendance. West will add to North as the only Parkway schools who have the program.
