Kyla’s Kitchen

Ever since it opened next to Circle 7 Ranch, Six North Cafe has been the perfect option for me to eat and study, as it is on the way to school. It is a calm and friendly environment mixed with healthy and delicious food.

While I usually go for tortilla wraps, especially the buffalo chicken wrap, I decided to be a little more adventurous this time and go with a staff recommendation. The waitress suggested the pesto turkey melt, with all of its tomato and provolone cheese deliciousness. The sandwich is complemented by wheatberry bread, which may sound weird, but pairs perfectly with the other components, like the basil pesto and roasted turkey.

The layers are proportioned nicely, so that none of the ingredients weigh the meal down. Despite the fact that the turkey is thinly sliced, they include plenty. The chefs have thrown in a pesto twist to make the classic turkey sandwich into an exciting new meal. However, it is definitely one of their heavier sandwiches, so order wisely.

In addition to the food, Six North offers a variety of drinks, from your traditional espressos and cappuccinos, to their famous smoothies. They’ve just introduced a new list of frozen coffees, a great study aide for any time of the year. However, if it comes down to it, I prefer Bread Co.’s coffee as my boost before a big test or studying for finals.

With its reasonable prices, variety of foods and drinks, and the fact that it is close to home, Six North fits all the criteria for a quiet study space or a nice hangout for after school. I would definitely recommend this cafe for anybody tired of Bread Co., or just looking for a healthy light meal.

Emma’s Eats

For any West High student who knows that Bread Co. can get crowded on weekdays after school with study groups, Six North Cafe, located just a little further down Clayton Rd., is a good option to eat and study with more peace and quiet.  With a menu similar to that of Bread Co., they mostly offer a variety of soups, salads and sandwiches.

Whenever I’m doing homework and looking for a meal to enhance my brainpower I pick the honey chicken wrap.  This is the perfect meal for any hardworking student who needs a quick protein pick-up.  Personally, when I study, I don’t want to eat a big heavy meal that’s going to drag me down, so this is the ideal size for me.  The grilled chicken keeps the meal light, but still tasty with the sweetness of the honey mustard and the savory flavor of the bacon.

Another essential item to any meal at Six North Cafe is one of their fresh made smoothies.  These are easily some of the best smoothies located in West County and there are plenty of flavors to choose from and they add new flavors often.  My favorite is the Peachberry smoothie.  I’m a huge fan of peaches so this was an obvious choice for me and it perfectly combines the sweetness of the peaches with some more tart berries.

Six North Cafe is easily reached by any West student by simply just turning left out of the parking lot and driving about two minutes down Clayton Rd.  Even though I think Six North is the better study option, if you’re looking for a more social scene, Bread Co may be a better fit for you.
