After school badminton club offered

Freshmen Lucas Markos had a passion for badminton.  He wanted to begin an after school club, so he and his friends asked over 30 teachers before they found math teacher Kristen Ellis to sponsor them.

“I always enjoyed the game of badminton, so when one of my students asked if I would be a sponsor, it seemed like a great opportunity to get involved. I believe that this club has potential of having great success and wonderful opportunity,” Ellis said.

There are currently 25 students who participate. The club meets every Thursday, in the cafeteria, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and all are welcomed.

“Currently, there is no cost for the badminton team. However, once we begin to lose/break birdies, a $1 fee to replace them will be necessary,” Ellis said.
