Taylor Swift “Red”

Taylor Swift Red

Taylor Swift released her highly anticipated fourth album Oct. 22, “Red.”  In the first week the album sold 1.2 million copies, the highest first week sales since the 2002 release of Eminem’s “The Eminem Show.”  “Red” makes Swift the only female artist to have two albums sell more than one million copies in the first week.

“Red” is about the good and bad of sides love, fallouts and new beginnings.  As someone who has listened to Swift since her first album, I think it shows her growth and development.  The songs are good but in a different way, as Swift changes her style from country/pop and goes a little further to the pop side.

“All too well,” is noteable as it is a great song to just chill out and listen to and sounds like something from her earlier albums.  Another one I like is “22,” because it is upbeat and unlike anything from her previous albums.

Besides a few expected country songs, most have a new found base in upbeat pop with their excited rhythms. This is Swift’s first album that is not considered country. Despite this change I am still a huge fan of “Red,” and according to the record sales I think a lot of other people are too.
