St. Louis Spotlight: oh the places you should go

Get out of town, to beautiful Saint Louis! Break the weekly routine of staying in West County and venture out to some of Missouri’s exciting locations.

The Loop

Bursting with energetic vibes and adventure, The Loop is a six block shopping center full of live music, restaurants and unique stores. Some of the Loop’s most popular attractions are the musical venue The Pageant, the Moonrise Hotel, restaurants like Blueberry Hill and stores such as Sunshine Daydreams. Because of it’s cultural enrichment, the Loop is definitely somewhere to visit on a weekend.

 

The Gateway Arch

Symbolizing the westward expansion of the United States, The Gateway Arch is a 630 foot tallmonument in downtown Saint Louis. If you have never seen the breathtaking view of St. Louis 630 feet in the sky, then now is your chance. Visitors have the opportunity to journey to the top of the arch in an enclosed tram. Under the monument are gift shops, concessions and a free museum dedicated to the westward expansion. The Gateway Arch is an important symbol to Saint Louis, so why not take a visit?

 

Forest Park

Located in the heart of the city, Forest Park is one of Saint Louis’ many treasures. The park offers museums and cultural venues, outdoor attractions and sports grounds. In the park, there is the well known Boathouse restaurant on the water where visitors can eat and take a paddle boat rides. Within the park is the Saint Louis art museum and the Jewel Box. For the sports lover, the park includes archery grounds, racquetball courts, trails, softball fields, volleyball courts and much more. Forest Park offers hundreds of fun activities to do, and it is worth spending time at on a sunny day.

 

The Zoo

Home to 655 species of animals, the St. Louis Zoo is one of 11 free zoos in America. The zoo is located on 90 acres of forest park and it’s full of activities to do with friends or the whole family, such as eating at jungle themed restaurants or shopping at gift shops. It also rates among the top three zoos in the country.

Yucandu

Open to children and adults, Yucandu is an art studio that provides the materials for hours of creativity. The studio offers an open studio that gives visitors the opportunity to create mosaics, collages, jewelry, painting and much more. Whether you’re with friends or family, Yucandu is the perfect place to get in touch with your creative side.
